**Job summary**:
An exciting opportunity to join the Medical Devices Testing and Evaluation Centre (MD-TEC) team, part of Research Development and Innovation at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. MD-TEC is a research infrastructure, supporting the development and testing of novel medical devices within the NHS and wider healthcare sector. The MD-TEC Team is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Project Research Officer with an interest in human factors to contribute both to the project management and scientific aspects of projects within the MD-TEC West Midlands Health Technology Innovation Accelerator (WMHTIA) portfolio.

Working with companies especially small and medium enterprises (SME) MD-TEC supports businesses through the complex regulatory process for medical devices by completing human factors usability testing, device functionality testing, health economic analyses, patient and public involvement work and initial clinical investigations. The post holders will co-ordinate a number of these activities for multiple projects within the programme at the same time.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The post holder must demonstrate excellent communication skills, which facilitate working in partnership with other teams within R D&I and wider UHB, but also with external organisations (e.g. University and commercial partners).
