Main duties of the job

As a Matron across Nottingham Childrens’ Hospital, you will provide day-to-day operational, clinical, professional leadership and support for nursing, maintaining quality focused standards as well as linking with other healthcare professionals throughout the services to ensure we continue to provide excellent care to our Children, Young People and their Families / Carers.

You will be supported in your role by the Lead Nurse for Nottingham Children's Hospital, the Deputy and Divisional Nurse for Family Health.

Provide responsive, compassionate, inclusive leadership and management to promote the highest standards of clinical care, patient safety and experience.

Ensure compliance with prevention and control of infections, monitoring cleaning of the environment.

Workforce management, finance and budgeting

Ensuring the highest quality education and development of nursing staff across the services.

To act as a resource, providing advice on professional nursing issues in relation to clinical interventions, policies and protocols, service delivery and service development

To ensure that appropriate resources are in place to support the delivery of high quality services within areas of responsibility

Training & Qualifications

- Management qualification or relevant experience
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching course
- Registered childrens nurse

- Post registration experience including management and leadership experience
- Knowledge of budgets/financial control
