Are you a nurse, midwife or Allied Health Professional who is passionate about improving patient care and staff experience using digital tools and transformation? If so this role is for you. We are looking for a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to patients, carers and staff.

You will be providing day to day line management support for a team of Digital Nurses and Midwives who are delivering clinical input to the Digital Portfolio of work.

You will provide strong clinical leadership within Digital Services and leading by example, you will drive up standards of care and have the authority to get the essential components of digital health right for patients and staff. You will ensure that staff and patients are treated with dignity and respect and that high standards are maintained throughout the service.

You will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management of the Clinical ICT non-medical workforce, guaranteeing the provision of high quality, evidence based digital health solutions which will be delivered in hospital, community and outreach settings.

You will also represent the service both internally and externally supporting the Chief Nursing Information Officer with the promotion of our work across our Integrated Care System and beyond.

Main duties of the job

As a Digital Matron, you will be involved in major change projects that require significant clinical engagement strategies in support of the Trusts Digital Roadmap and in line with the Trust’s clinical quality strategy.

You will also provide support, advice and facilitation to all clinical groups throughout NUH. The role will support the integration of digital health solutions throughout all hospital settings and will support, develop and implement additional special projects as identified by the Trust in line with the vision of ‘delivering excellence in everything we do’.

You will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management of the Clinical ICT non-medical workforce, guaranteeing the provision of high quality, evidence based digital health solutions which will be delivered in hospital, community and outreach settings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Provide strong, visible, clinical leadership, energising, inspiring and empowering clinical staff in pursuit of the effective and safe delivery of digital health services within their area of responsibility.

Promote better understanding of clinical technology and how professionals can work to support patients and individuals to access services by means of role modelling and actively promoting clinical ICT.

Ensure high standards of clinical practice are enhanced with the appropriate use of digital health services by reviewing and auditing the impact on patient outcomes

Promote an ethos of joint working, collaboration and mutual respect amongst all members of staff across the Digitial Health Service

Promote and support the organisation to be one where good practice is shared, lessons learned are disseminated and achievements are praised

Work closely with other matrons to ensure collaborative working and achievement of Trust objectives, particularly safe patient care.

Working closely as part of the Digital Services Senior Management Team to promote best practise

Using evidence based and reflective practice, influence digital health practice across sphere of responsibility, acting as a change agent and a professional resource for all staff to ensure the delivery of national and local standards of digital health.
