An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 secondment, full-time band 8a Matron post for the Head and Neck and Major Trauma services within Surgery Division at Nottingham University Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for the following specialities; ENT, Max Fax, Audiology, NAIP and the Major Trauma unit. The specialties have a strong reputation for training and innovation and the multidisciplinary team, work closely together to ensure patients receive the best possible care and outcome. This role will work alongside other Matrons within the Surgery Division and the Neuro, H&N and Major Trauma Directorate.

We are looking for a highly motivated professional nurse to undertake the role of Matron on a 12 month secondment. You will have an extensive skill set in nursing management and leadership and be an effective communicator. You will be a positive role model and hold responsibility to support the developments of Clinical Governance and Service Improvement, modernise patient services and ensure the active involvement of patients and carers in the way services are developed, delivered and evaluated. The post is critical in ensuring safe, quality patient care and experience is provided by the clinical teams and the health and wellbeing of staff remains high on the agenda.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be an integral member of the senior management team for the specialties, working alongside the Heads of Service and Specialty General Managers. The post holder will be accountable for ward areas; managing capacity and flow and the associated teams. As such leadership skills are a must.

The Matron post will be based on the Queens Campus; however, you will be asked to work on the City Campus on occasions.

- Qualified Practitioner - NMC PIN
- Evidence of CPD
- Management qualification or relevant experience
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching course

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
