Billing System Support and Testing Specialist

Snodland, United Kingdom South East Water Full time

**This role is open to current SEW employees and contractors only.**

**Do you have an excellent understanding of our CRM and billing system?**

**Are you someone who enjoys meeting deadlines? Do you take pride ensuring your work is of the highest quality? Then this is your opportunity to take your career with South East Water in a new direction**

This is your chance to join the team as a Billing System Support and Testing Specialist. You’ll get to use your sound knowledge of our CRM and Billing system to have a hand in making improvements that will benefit our customers and your colleagues.

In this role, you’ll learn to provide first class support to colleagues who contact us with queries about our billing system and CRM. So, your excellent customer service and attention to detail will be put to great use. As someone who wants to share ideas, you’ll be involved in testing changes and producing insights that will drive improvements to our processes.

Although you have excellent knowledge of our CRM and Billing systems, previous testing or UAT experience isn’t essential. You’ll find we’re a supportive, well established team that can offer you all the guidance and encouragement needed for you to learn. What’s really important, is for you to bring your keen eye for spotting inefficiencies; a curiosity to ask questions about why we do things the way we do; and an analytical approach to your work. You’ll also have good written communication skills as you’ll be updating change logs, change documents and creating reports.

There’s lot’s happening in our team that makes this an outstanding opportunity to develop your career. Not only will you gain a ‘behind the scenes’ understanding of our technologies; we’re supporting the development of ‘My Account’ and other key upgrades to our system capability, which you will help to implement.

**You’ll grow a career with a meaningful purpose. Be you, belong and be valued.**
- Come to work to feel safe, valued and trusted.
- We’ll encourage you to create and pursue new opportunities for personal growth.
- A place to be the real you, build deeper connections and enjoy a sense of belonging.
- Be invested in helping us to create a sustainable water supply for now, and in the future.

**What you’ll deliver**
- You’ll be a formal point of contact for Billing System Development & Testing involving change control, requirement capture, project planning, release management, testing and implementation.
- Your working hours will be between 08:00 - 19:00 Monday to Friday. Some flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary to support live updates to the system.
- You will co-ordinate delivery of system developments through provision of test plans, organisation of test scripts and monitoring of user testing.
- You’ll maintain all system tables and parameters ensuring configuration is valid and accurate
- You’ll help to accurately bill our customers and post cash using the overnight batch function, including balancing and reporting of the core system updates.
- You’ll identify billing errors and implement preventative actions to improve efficiency and customer perception.
- You will work with all members of BIS and Customer Services ensuring other specialists are involved and supported throughout the improvement and implementation process.
- You’ll ensure your work complies with the regulatory and industry standards and that developments and recommendations are in line with the department/company strategy.
- You’ll maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of Customer Service work practices and policies, enabling the provision of advice and support to colleagues.

**What you’ll bring to the role**
- You’ll be confident using Microsoft office tools (word, excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You’re extremely motivated and enjoy working to meet deadlines
- You’re curious about technology and how it works to make things easier
- You’re a strong team player and enjoy working to meet shared goals
- You’re organised and logical in your approach to solving problems

**What you can expect from us**
- A salary of up to £25,888.
- Excellent Stakeholder pension scheme, up to 10% employer contribution
- 5 weeks’ holiday allowance, rising to 6 weeks with length of service
- Cycle to work scheme
- Health cash plan
- Life assurance
- Wellbeing related benefits
