You’ll take up this role to provide crucial administrative support within our busy, close knitted Highways team. When South East Water completes work or repairs on the highway, our team ensures all safety measures, permissions and records are in place and being followed.

You’ll be first point of contact for Highways Authorities, other Utility Companies, Contractors or other South East Water colleagues needing help or assistance. This means you always promotes a positive image, enjoys solving problems and has the attention to detail to spot important information.

No previous experience is necessary. You don’t need to be an expert in Highways regulations when you start out. What’s really important is that you’re persistent in your approach, well organised and ready to learn as you go. You’ll answer calls from contractors, process invoices, update data systems and respond to queries.

You’ll work 37 hours per week Monday - Friday ideally between 08:00 - 16:30. This is a great opportunity to develop a career here at South East Water. You’ll learn more about the water industry and build excellent connections across our business.

**What will you mainly be responsible for delivering?**
- You’ll process invoices and prepare recharge invoices for contractors.
- You’ll record, verify, challenge and monitor road defects, Section 74’s and Fixed Penalty Notices.
- You’ll be responsible for accurately updating electronic and paper filing systems, and updating our database.
- You’ll respond to enquiries from other departments, contractors and Highway Authorities.
- You’ll develop an understanding of New Roads and Street Act (1991), Traffic Management Act (2004) and associated Code of Practices.
- You’ll help to compile monthly performance reports.

**What do you bring to the role?**
- You’ll have good IT skills to be able to use our systems to carry out your work
- You’ll be proficient in MS Office packages
- You enjoy working independently and unsupervised
- You have excellent communication skills to represent our department internally and externally
- You enjoy problem solving with an eye for detail.
