This is a development opportunity to become a Commercial Manager, providing an introduction to commercial activities on capital infrastructure projects. It is responsible for providing administrative support to the commercial management team within HS2’s Project Delivery organisation, assisting the commercial team with the delivery of the works.
**About the role**:

- Maintain and update the contract management system and work with the delivery team to ensure communications are issued on behalf of HS2 to the Contractor.
- Produce statistical reports on data sourced from the contract management system that assists in driving effective contract management behaviours.
- Provide guidance and advice on the contract management system and, in time, lead training and refresher training.
- Develop reporting templates to inform the project delivery team of their performance.

**About You**:
**Skills**:

- Administration and Organisational Skills - including ability or willingness to learn to use databases and document control processes
- _Capability to use standard desktop programmes such as Excel and Word_
- Ability or willingness to learn to produce and manipulate a range of forecasting and numerical analysis tools including spreadsheets, pivot tables and databases.
- Analysis skills - including compiling, assessing and analysing information and data reports to identify key issues.
- Ability to use Excel spreadsheets, MS Word and PowerPoint or equivalent packages
- _Effective verbal and written communication skills_
- _Personable approach in working _with teams and individuals across the organisation

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge or willingness to learn about contract control systems such as CEMAR or document management workflows,
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about Contract account management,
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about the _construction and professional services _contract forms.

**Type of experience**:

- Experience of assessing and analysing information and reports to identify key issues.
- Some experience of contract work is preferable, although not essential, with an enthusiasm and interest in pursuing a career in commercial management being key.
