St Austell, United Kingdom Harbour Housing (Cosgarne Hall Ltd) Full time

**Who are We?**

We are Harbour Housing, a regional charity providing accommodation and support to those experiencing homelessness and other disadvantages across Cornwall. We provide services and manage projects across West, Mid and East Cornwall and our goal is to empower our beneficiaries to regain their independence and work towards maintaining their own accommodation through bespoke and person-centred support.

We have recently successfully become registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) so that we will be able to provide a domiciliary care service to some of the individuals we work with who have a personal care requirement.

**About the Role**

Our Holistic Support & Care Assistants are at the very core of what we do, and they enable us to provide a unique and comprehensive service to often the most vulnerable and at-risk individuals within our local community.

This is a newly developed role, and it will evolve to become both highly varied and challenging with no two days ever being the same. We are looking to employ a team of enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced care professionals who are looking for a new and unique challenge in their career and something a bit different from the traditional domiciliary carer role, as you will also provide housing related support, advice and guidance to individuals alongside traditional domiciliary care support.

We will provide you with comprehensive training to enable you to engage regularly with people using our services who have an identified care need and provide them with high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care that focuses on the enrichment of lives and achievement of meaningful outcomes. You’ll be responsible for providing personal care, assisting individuals with medication administration, supporting with domestic tasks, and helping people learn valuable life skills. You will also act as an advocate for the people you support, by liaising with medical professionals and supporting individuals to attend scheduled appointments and meetings.

**Who are we looking for?**

We are looking for individuals who are strong communicators, who can confidently engage with different audiences and develop positive and productive relationships with individuals with complex needs. Excellent organisational skills are key, as well as an empathetic and compassionate nature and a genuine passion and interest in helping others. You’ll also possess the ability to manage a varied workload, as well as being able to think on your feet and react to unexpected situations in a positive and proactive way.

You’ll need to be flexible and available to work every other weekend, on a weekend on - weekend off pattern. This is also a full time, 40 hour per week role.
