About the Role

The Student Outcomes Senior Officer (Student Partners) is a vital member of the Student Outcomes team. The purpose of this role is to primarily lead on the development and delivery of the Inclusive Education Student Partners programme and ensure that the project outcomes are met. The programme is a targeted initiative that ensures that BME student insights are embedded into the core work done at King’s to close attainment gaps. You will also have the opportunity to develop the King’s approach to student cocreation by creating and implementing policy and procedures to ensure students have a positive experience when partnering with staff at King’s.

This is an exciting chance to contribute, input and be at the forefront of student led initiatives to address differential outcomes between learners with the aim to positively impact current and future student experience at King’s.

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the planning and delivery of the Inclusive Education Student Partners programme, from student recruitment through to ensuring project outcomes are met and provide ongoing coaching support to student partners.
- In collaboration with colleagues, support the development and facilitation of the Inclusive Education Staff Partners network.
- Work with key stakeholders including academic faculties, KCLSU, Diversity & Inclusion and What Works as well as colleagues in the department to contribute to the Inclusive Education strand of Education Professional Development.
- Effective supervision of all contracted members of staff and student ambassadors.
- Planning and leading on the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the Inclusive Education Student Partners programme with the support of What Works.
- Support the continued development and implementation of robust processes for student cocreation at King’s, partnering with KCLSU.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Essential criteria
- Experience of managing large and intensive projects or events
- Experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds including students or young people
- Experience of building relationships and bringing people from a range of backgrounds and teams together to deliver on shared objectives
- Experience of planning and delivering multichannel communications campaigns
- Ability to work with others to deliver project aims and to use initiative and creativity to resolve problems
- Ability to decide own pattern of work and manage own workload and resources
- Ability to coach or train others on how to undertake specific tasks and give clear direction on desired outcomes
- Understand how the lived experience of students from underrepresented backgrounds is affected by structural inequality in higher education

Desirable criteria
- Experience of evaluating the impact of training or a learning session
- Experience of evaluating projects against aims and objectives and producing reports for internal and external audiences
- Ability to communicate through inspiring messaging, content, and creative solutions - able to translate complex ideas to simple messages to support embedding of change through a multitude of mediums and channels
- Understanding of community organising and or design thinking
- Experience of using content management systems, intranets, digital channels, social media, video
