**Background**:
The Senior Student Welfare Officer works closely with the Student Experience Team, academic and professional staff within the School, as well as with other staff in central student services, notably the Learning Support Team. The role covers all educational provision delivered by the School. The wellbeing, support and success of our students is pivotal in achieving an excellent student experience. The post holder will be expected to augment and enrich our thinking in this area and contribute innovative ideas to build our student welfare support.

**Responsibilities**:
The Senior Student Welfare Officer is a new role and will be the main coordinator for all activities relating to student welfare, engagement, progression and retention. The purpose of this post is to have oversight of processes which support the student journey within the School and enhance students’ progression through their studies. The post holder will play an active role in advising and supporting Programme Directors, Personal Tutors, academic and professional staff with student welfare issues (how to deal with difficult issues and sign
- posting to appropriate processes and other services if required).
