An opportunity for a registered Healthcare professional, working in the Patient Experience Team, acting as a professional lead for patient engagement in the Trust.

Their role will be to help and advising on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Patient Experience and Engagement Strategy through targeted patient engagement.

Working closely with other members of the patient experience team, the applicant would use their clinical knowledge to fully understand our patients experience and to identify with clinical teams where improvements could be made.

The role will include elements of teaching and educating staff. Working with the public, volunteers and Governors using a variety of tools to provide assurance on the quality of the care that the Trust delivers.

The applicant must have broad clinical experience to be able to work in wards and departments, alongside a variety of teams across the organisation.

This role will help to resolve individual patient and relative concerns so the applicant would need a sound knowledge of the complaints procedure alongside clinical credibility and be able to navigate difficult conversations in order to achieve resolution.

The applicant will need to have the ability to design and support projects and influence change across the organisation.

General duties include the following;
Providing professional advice and support to patients and carers on a wide range of services and developments in the organisation.

Coordinating and delivering a wide range of patient engagement activities to promote patient involvement which is reflective of national best practice and current research.

Deliver specialist training to a wide range of staff to improve engagement and the patient experience.

the role will include dealing with highly complex and sensitive communication. This may include gathering and presenting to staff, a families experience of death of a loved one, where the family feel there have been failings in care, triangulate these insights to make change to help either individual patients or carers or to drive Trust wide change.

Working with people from communities that are less heard from, targeting their input into redesign to help to minimise health inequality.

Where individual concerns are raised, attend the patients bedside, review patient notes and speak with staff to gather assurance about the standard of care.
