**About the Role**:
The Newspaper Operations team is responsible for leading the operational planning, production and timely distribution of our printed titles. We deliver an innovative, collaborative approach to the planning and delivery of the printed product, improving process, using technology and our talent to make our print operations smarter.
A competent, diligent and communicative member of staff working at an intermediate level across the department’s functions.Provides a practical level of technical expertise in their work process areas to support others.
It’s an exciting, challenging role and requires high levels of attention to detail. The role covers imaging responsibilities and edition control, who operate throughout the week (Monday to Sunday), responding to business requirements.
This role requires weekday and weekend cover, with late shifts.

**Key Responsibilities**:
An Operations Delivery Coordinator helps to deliver the highest standards of work to achieve the very best for our publications, and is competent and flexible enough to fully engage with the various elements of the role. **You will be required to**:

- Working within a small team with responsibilities for colour correcting/cutouts of images within both the Newspapers and Magazines.
- Transmitting the magazine pages for the relevant printers.
- Work with the business correcting images for POS posters, banners and promotional printed material
- Proofing images for editorial sign off
- Working with designers to advise on image quality and giving guidance when required.
- Work out of hours on occasion, in a standalone role.
- You’ll be required to work accurately and efficiently in a role that may include elements of transmission, copy setting, planning or imaging

You will be able to demonstrate confidence in the following areas on a day-to-day basis, and in a

**busy working environment**:

- Advanced Photoshop re-touching skills in print production and fully competent with handling & basics of picture production cutouts in Photoshop.
- Intermediate level print publishing knowledge - Newspapers and magazines
- Able to work late shifts - weekday and weekend shift cover.
- Intermediate colour reproduction and colour management skills.
- An experience based approach to problem solving and can effectively deploy standard solutions to problems.
- Makes priority judgements in handling of workload in relation to problems.
- Is confident to suggest improvements to established solutions and knowledge and experience commensurate with the role’s scale and complexity.
- Experience in a deadline driven environment inc shift work
- Expertise in several core functions of the department with an understanding of tools and the context in which they operate.
- Confident in supporting and advising colleagues and customers.
- Confident to work out of hours alone
