**What you’ll do**
The Data Domain is essential to the success of Vodafone UK, this team is accountable for the architecture and design of our Big Data platforms, Data warehousing and Reporting practice. The Domain is currently undergoing major strategic initiatives to transform and simplify the Data Domain infrastructure

This role is to lead the delivery of Big Data and Machine learning capabilities in Vodafone UK and provide technical and strategic leadership to multiple cross functional agile squads consisting of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Ops and Architecture teams in Vodafone UK and Vodafone Group IT.
- You will provide technical and strategic leadership to the UK Big Data cross functional squads performing AI and ML activities for Consumer and Vodafone Business.
- You will set the technology strategy for the Big Data Platform / Machine Learning / AI in Vodafone UK within the context of the Vodafone Group of companies in order to maximise economies of scale within the Vodafone Group and achieve our objectives
- You will be ready to shape and drive constant improvement to the Big Data platform (AWS and GCP) to ensure data quality, efficient operations and optimisation of Cloud computing costs
- You will assess the technology impact of demands on Vodafone UK’s Big Data Platform, agreeing prioritisation of the demand; and communicating the technology roadmap with the relevant product owners and senior stakeholders in Consumer and Vodafone Business; and managing the Application Development and Application Maintenance of the Big Data Platform

**Who you are**
- You will be a leader who can inspire and motivate a cross functional team of Data Engineers, QA Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Owners Data Ops & Dev Ops and Scrum Masters, and senior stakeholders in Consumer and Vodafone Business
- You will have experience of matrix managing a cross functional team with team members located both in the UK and off-shore locations
- You will have a good understanding of Big Data, Machine Learning and Cloud (AWS and GCP) infrastructure and architecture expertise.
- You will possess experience of operating in a Scaled Agile and matrix management environment
- You will have knowledge and implementation experience of Big Data and data-related Cloud services (AWS / GCP)
- You ideally will have experience in programming (Python or Scala) and analysis of data, including integration of large-scale data sets, design and implementation of data processing pipelines and machine learning capabilities**What we offer**
