What you’ll do
We are searching for a passionate and experienced Data Lake DevOps Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Data Lake infrastructure on GCP using DevOps and FinOps principles.
You will design, develop, and manage the Data Lake infrastructure on a cloud platform, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. You will Implement DevOps practices (CI/CD) to automate data pipelines and infrastructure provisioning, streamlining development and deployment. You will analyse cloud spending for the Data Lake, allocate storage and compute costs to the relevant business areas, identify cost-saving opportunities. You will enforce data security best practices implementing user access control, encryption, pseudonymisation of Personal Identifiable Information and auditing to ensure data governance. You will Lead and mentor a small offshore team, fostering knowledge sharing within the Data Domain, Data & Analytics teams within the business units and collaboration between data engineers, data scientists, and analysts.Who you are
You will demonstrate technical expertise and preferably be proficient on Google cloud platform, DevOps principles, data engineering tools and Cloud FinOps practices. You will have a strong understanding of cloud pricing models and ability to analyse cost data to identify areas for optimisation. You will demonstrate an ability to lead and mentor a team, which includes team members based in the UK and offshore, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. You will preferably have experience of operating in a Scaled Agile and matrix management environment. You will have excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders. You must have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years for BPSS security clearance requirement.-
