To provide acute general paediatric cover to in-patients and on assessment unit. To assist seniors with management of babies on neonatal unit and postnatal wards. Undertake newborn baby checks as part of rota. By arrangement to cover colleagues during periods of annual and study leave.

Administrative duties specific to the role associated with the care of the patients and the running of the clinical department (including discharge paperwork.) Participate actively in quality improvement activity/ clinical audit and implement its results. The post-holder will undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in emergency and unforeseen circumstances as are essential for continuity of patient care. Abiding by the clinical and corporation governance policies of the Trust
