London, United Kingdom Counter Terrorism Policing Full time

**The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.**

**The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale - £36,864 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.**

**Location: West Brompton**

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) has an ambitious new strategy - and you could help deliver it. As a Portfolio Support Officer, you’ll support the coordination of critical Digital, Data, Analysis and Technology initiatives that will lead to a revolutionary change in the way we use data.

Based at CTPHQ, you’ll play an integral role in delivering a step-change in how we exploit data. Working across a diverse portfolio of high-profile data and technology initiatives, you’ll be supporting crucial change across UK law enforcement.

We’ll be looking to you to support the DDAT portfolio day-to-day, help with monitoring and reporting; and tackle a range of administrative tasks from organising meetings to managing mailboxes. It means working closely with a wide range of people, including senior officers, so you’ll need to be articulate, credible and able to influence.

In addition to great communication skills, you’ll need a project, programme or portfolio experience, qualification (e.g. PRINCE2), or transferrable skills in a similar area. You should also be keen to learn more about tech and data, and to keep your knowledge growing.

Above all, you need to be organised, with an eye for detail and the ability to work unsupervised. With pride in your work and the highest of standards, you’ll be a vital part of our team.

Besides the rewarding nature of the job itself, a competitive salary, and a Civil Service pension, you'll also benefit from excellent career and professional development.

**Key Tasks**

The post holder will be required to do the following:
You will play an integral role in delivering a step-change in how we exploit data. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Day-to-day support of the DDAT portfolio, including assisting in the engagement with relevant areas of the business to understand the process and governance of DDAT projects.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and officers within the Data and Analysis Pillar, other CTPHQ units, the CT Network, Specialist Operations, other relevant areas of the MPS and with external stakeholders.
- Being responsible for day-to-day business support or administrative activities, such as room bookings, meeting invites and mailbox management.
- Supporting regular monitoring and reporting tools and processes for measuring progress against the portfolio’s objectives.
- Contributing to the design and development of effective and efficient planning approaches and processes, and providing the required guidance and tools, at portfolio, programme and project levels.
- Being responsible for tracking DDAT finances, raising purchase orders, financial drawdowns and other administrative functions.
- Other relevant project, programme or portfolio work, appropriate to the grade and according to business needs.
