MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

**JOB SUMMARY**
Proactively research, identify and cultivate new and existing relationships to raise awareness and income in line with annual budget requirements. This includes both community and corporate supporters.
As required, support the annual Hospice led events calendar.
**INTRODUCTORY NOTES**
2. In addition to amendments requested by the hospice, suggested changes to the content of this document which could improve the job description would be welcome from the post holder.
3. The post holder will have a duty to be aware of and adhere to all the rules and regulations of professional governing bodies and any particular Acts of Parliament or other statutory requirements, which may change from time to time.
4. The post holder may have access to information which is strictly confidential. It is a condition of employment that under no circumstances will such information be discussed or shared with unauthorised person or persons.
5. Whilst hours worked will normally be 8.30am to 5.00pm there will be occasions when the post holder will be required to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Proactively research, identify and develop a pipeline of new and existing supporters to increase the number of organisations raising money by increasing awareness within the community. Including businesses, schools, community groups and community event organisers.
2. Increase net income by facilitating a volunteer led approach to fundraising by providing tools and expert advice and inspiration to promote the hospice and generate income through supporters own networks for both sponsored externally organised events and hosting own social events.
3. Engage with existing and new supporters encouraging them to support the hospice through organising their own fundraising or taking part in organised events and activities e.g. runs, walks, skydives etc.
4. Support individuals, groups, organisations etc. with their fundraising by advising supporters on ways to get involved, supplying information and materials, giving encouragement and help to promote their fundraising.
5. Develop specific proposals for fundraising initiatives with local community organisations e.g. charity of the year and for local events for agreement by the Head of Fundraising.
6. Maintain knowledge of all products offered by the fundraising team. Through a targeted approach maximise brand exposure and income by identifying and securing opportunities for sales of campaigns such as the Christmas and Summer raffles.
7. As required, support the Events Fundraiser with the annual schedule of events e.g. logistics, volunteer management, corporate relations, depending on the priority.
8. Prepare feasibility budgets and action plans for fundraising initiatives and events.
9. Contribute to the development and production of promotional materials in general for community fundraising and events e.g. fundraising pack.
10. Promote community fundraising via local media and social media platforms.
11. Ensure risk assessments/agreements for community fundraising events/activities are completed as required.
12. Recruit volunteers to assist with fundraising activities as required.
**General Duties**
1. Preparing activity reports on a weekly basis.
2. The hospice expects staff to demonstrate a commitment to their own development, taking advantage of education and training opportunities and develop their own competences.
3. To participate in all mandatory training as required.
4. As part of the fundraising team, participating in the development of overall fundraising strategy and initiatives and giving practical assistance in all other areas as required.
5. Have an awareness of overall fundraising events and fundraising initiatives, such as payroll giving, gift aid and gifts in kind.
6. Have an awareness of legacies, hospice lottery, flower fund and in memory giving, and ability to promote these campaigns.
7. In conjunction with members of the fundraising team, represent the hospice at events, displays, exhibitions, etc., to help ensure that the hospice maintains a high profile within the community.
8. Receiving and, when appropriate, receipting cash raised at events within the community and ensuring its safe handling in line with the event risk assessment.
