Job description

Sheffield Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency service. Working alongside partner agencies we are dedicated to improving community safety, and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children. Comprising statutory agencies including Police, Probation Service, Education, Health, and the Local Authority, and in collaboration with the Youth Justice Board (YJB), we work towards addressing the unique needs of Children aged 10 - 18 within the youth justice system.

Job Overview:
As an Education Officer, you will play a crucial role in identifying the educational needs of children and working collaboratively with others to ensure services are commissioned that allow for a bespoke package of educational support. Additionally, you may be required to support children aged 16+ look for training opportunities, apprenticeships or prepare for interviews and access paid employment.

You will be required to be flexible in terms of working hours between the hours of 8am - 8pm and need to be able to adapt to changing priorities.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
