Alchemy Arts is launching a crucial Cost of Living project aimed at supporting Manchester residents through the current cost of living crisis. This project focuses on providing advice services, financial management support, and assistance in accessing unclaimed benefits. We are seeking a dedicated Welfare Rights Officer to lead this initiative, offering vital guidance and support to individuals navigating the complexities of the welfare system.

**Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities**
- Deliver 3-hour weekly drop-in surgeries at Abraham Moss Library & Leisure Centre, providing expert advice on welfare rights and financial management.
- Conduct benefit entitlement checks and offer support with council tax, Personal Independence Payment, Carer's Allowance, Attendance Allowance, and benefit overpayment advice.
- Utilise ICT software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, for data collection, case management, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain a database of support services for effective signposting.
- Prepare and submit evaluation reports to senior management, ensuring quality assurance processes are adhered to.

**Essential Criteria**
- Previous experience working with community groups, providing welfare advice or financial management support.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community members.
- A good understanding of the welfare system and experience in navigating its complexities.
- Confidence in using ICT software for data management and reporting.
- Awareness of cultural sensitivities and the ability to work empathetically with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to prepare and provide evaluation reports to senior management.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Ability to speak community languages, particularly Urdu and Punjabi, to better serve the local population.
