**Guideposts is transforming and is looking for trustees to support our leadership team**
We believe that having a board of trustees with a range of skills and backgrounds can help us to develop as an organisation and implement our strategic objectives.
Particularly important to us this year are:
- An understanding of the current operating context for social care charities
- legal back ground
- people with professional and/or clinical local knowledge of the three counties (Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Hertfordshire) that we currently operate within
- Fundraising and business development skills and experience
- charity governance
- operational leadership experience
- Communication and marketing skills
But most important is commitment and enthusiasm and the opportunity to give your own time to support our fantastic charity.
**What does being a Trustee involve?**
Trustees have a really important role and are are ultimately responsible for the organisation and management of Guideposts. We have a CEO who works closely with the Trustees and the operational leadership team.
The Board of Trustees appoints a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary - these are the ‘official jobs’. However, **all** trustees have jobs to do to keep the charity running and to enable it to carry out its range of activities.
The Board of Trustees usually meets six times a year and also attend sub-committees in their areas of expertise. These meetings take place virtually and face to face, Trustees are expected to attend these meetings.
