Remote, United Kingdom Teenage Helpline Full time

**At Teenage Helpline**, we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about make a difference in the lives of young people across the UK

Teenage Helpline is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as the first stepping-stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves, or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues.

All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers. We have great systems in place to allow our employees and volunteers to get to know each other, work effectively together and do great work

We are a flexible organisation that values the contributions of everyone. We will never ask more from our volunteers and employees than they can give, but we are sure to celebrate and recognise their efforts.

**About the role**

Here at Teenage Helpline, we hugely value ensuring that young people are actively involved in the decisions that are made to grow the Charity. We are pleased that we continue to strengthen the relationship that our Board of Trustees has with young people through our Youth Advisory Committee.

**If you are aged 14 to 25**, this is a great opportunity to join a growing and adaptable youth-focussed charity and make a real impact. As the Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee, you will play a key role in providing feedback to the Board of Trustees on the Charity, promote the youth voice from within the organisation and, ultimately, influence decisions made about the direction of the charity to ensure that we continue to remain relevant to the needs of those that we support.

We are happy to help you with any volunteering hours required for programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh award - let us know when you get started so that we can track your hours and sign them off.

**Responsibilities**
- Chair regular Youth Advisory Committee meetings (normally held every other month), where you will play an active role in leading discussions around the current status of the Charity and its growth and ensure that accurate minutes of each meeting have been recorded - ensuring that the perspectives of all Youth Advisory Committee members are heard.
- As a member of the Board of Trustees and Directors (normally held every other month), review Board preparation documents and cast your vote in key decisions about the Charity on behalf of the Youth Advisory Committee and young people.
- Review and influence decisions that are made about the future of the Charity to ensure that we remain relevant to the needs of young people - this includes the general direction of the charity, the services that we offer, the way that we engage with young people and much more
- Engage with your peers through different forms to gain further feedback and understanding of the needs of young people and feed this back into Teenage Helpline
- Most importantly, become an ambassador for the Charity, helping to grow awareness amongst your peers about who we are and the services that we offer to young people.

Our mission is to make Teenage Helpline the best charity in the UK. To build inclusive processes, we need to build an inclusive team. Please know that this list is indicative and that we would still love to hear from you even if you feel you only are a 75% match. Skills can be learned, but diversity cannot. We promote a diverse and inclusive culture at TeenageHelpline.

**The Process**

Our hiring process typically has three stages
- Video or Written Application (when applicable)
- Interview with the Talent Team
- Interview with the Hiring Manager
- Some roles will have extra stages but we’ll let you know as early as possible if so._

Please let us know if you require any accommodations for the interview process, and we’ll do our best to assist.
