Remote, United Kingdom Time to Talk Mental Health UK Full time

We are looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic volunteer to supervise all our volunteer moderators and observers for Time to Talk Mental Health UK Facebook peer support group. We are a national support group and our adult members come from all over the UK.

The group is open to members seeking and supporting each other 24/7 and 365 days a year. We have volunteer moderators as our peer-to-peer group ensures that our members are listened to and supported without judgement, with empathy and kindness. Our volunteer moderators have three shifts each day to choose from to suit their other commitments and are flexible when we need them to be. The management team and senior moderators are committed to be “on-call” administrators for a particular day, so that our moderators have support if they need it with regard to concerns that may arise. We also have members who have offered to be “observers” who will agree to pair up with a moderator to support them ensuring that none of our members' posts are missed. Every member who posts for support will be responded to and supported.

The specific duties are recruiting, interviewing, induction, supervision and updating the weekly rota schedule and updating the documentation of all volunteer records. For example the Volunteer Register and individual volunteer records. All our volunteers as part of their induction are DBS checked and have to complete adult and children safeguarding e-learning courses.

All our volunteers have lived experience of a mental illness and therefore we are committed to ensuring their welfare comes first. This means we have absences due to their needing to “step back”. Many return to volunteer, however there are times when numbers are low so we recruit through Indeed.

We hope you will have experience mentoring and supervising staff. We ask that you commit to at least 4 hours per week. A supportive induction and training is funded and offered as well as working closely with the Trustee who will support and act as buddy so that tasks can be shared to support any wellbeing needs.

**Key Tasks;**
- To abide by, respect and uphold the values of Time to Talk Mental Health UK.
- To maintain the safe and friendly environment within Time to Talk Mental Health UK.
- To maintain the strict privacy and confidentiality requirements in Time to Talk Mental Health UK and all associated groups.
- To ensure that all volunteer records are kept up to date.
- To ensure that all volunteers have current DBS and are renewed when r.01equired.
- To ensure that all volunteers have refreshed adults’ and children safeguarding learning.
- Ensure that the rota for the following week is posted every Friday for volunteers to confirm any extra shifts needed (covering absences or vacant slots). The final rota is posted on Sunday for the following week.
- You will be asked to join the on-call admin group for a suitable day a week.
- You may be called upon as an emergency moderator where a shift cannot be covered by a moderator or admin on-call.
- To ensure that all posts and comments comply with group guidelines.
- To contribute to decisions about group direction, ensuring that all team members have the opportunity to input.
- To inform the team of any shift changes, swaps or cancellations.
- Any other tasks which may be required from time to time.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £0.01-£0.02 per year

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week

Application question(s):

- Do you have lived experience either with or supporting someone with a mental illness?
- Please confirm that you will be available for an informal chat between 19 March and 21 March. This will be a half hour virtual chat via ZOOM
- Please confirm you are over 18 years and a UK resident
