**Job summary**:
His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde is home to the Vanguard Class Submarines, providing the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base in the Royal Navy and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Clyde Naval Base Security Team’s new Joint Operations Centre as the Deputy Chief of Staff. The Joint Operations Centre is a multi-agency facility cohering the activities of security units who protect the Naval Base and the submarines that operate from it.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week

**Job description**:

- The successful applicant will be the Joint Operation Centre's lead planner; cohering specialist planning teams, chairing meetings and briefing the outcomes to seniors. They will be required to build relationships internally in the Base and externally with our Police partners. This challenging post requires an individual with experience working in the UK Government security sector. They will line-manage a small team of security specialists and will routinely work with sensitive information so will require a high level of security clearance. The working routine will vary in response to operational demands with occasional surge periods requiring extended working hours and membership of an on-call duty officer rosta.**Person specification**:
This post requires an individual who is motivated by the challenge of a dynamic operating environment where success is the product of teamwork built on the foundations of hard work, trust and respect for differing opinions and approaches.

Please note this post requires on site attendance as the role cannot be delivered remotely. Some over-night UK-based travel will be required.
