**Role Snapshot **

Prepare and deliver a high quality school holiday activity programme for children and young people in the Broadland district, both in house and enabling community provision whilst also supporting positive provision for young people across both districts.

The Communities team provides a range of services for residents which include; engaging with community groups, delivering a highly regarded holiday scheme for young people, providing physical activity opportunities for those with stable health conditions, building bespoke support packages for vulnerable people, facilitating grant programs including our Community at Heart Lottery, processing information for Assets of Community Value (ACV) and enabling a variety of events to take place.

**What you’ll be doing **
- Developing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the Council’s Tots2Teens holiday activity scheme.
- Managing all aspects of a small team of seasonally contracted staff.
- Acting as a Designated Child Protection Officer, ensuring child welfare is paramount and providing support to staff and colleagues as required.
- Ensuring all legal requirements in relation to child-care, health & safety and statutory duties are met.
- Supporting the Events and Communities Coordinator to deliver Council-run events such as Community Awards and 10k races.
- Working within the Communities team and with partners to build relationships, raise awareness and deliver projects that focus on young people, wellbeing, culture and/or the arts.

**You must have **
- A minimum of a level 3 qualification for use in a Playwork setting and/or equivalent experience in running successful activities for young people.
- Hold or be willing to complete as a matter of urgency, qualifications in: Child Protection Designated Officer, Special Educational Needs and First Aid.
- Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and tailoring activities accordingly to ensure integrated participation in a mainstream setting.
- Demonstrable experience of recruiting, training and managing staff, ideally in a remote environment.
- A current driving licence.
- The ability to demonstrate self-sufficiency in the work place; leading on projects, adequately evaluating work to meet business needs and being responsible for others.
