The role is responsible for providing patient focused and high quality clerical support to the Respiratory Diagnostic Department. The post holder will support the delivery of National and Trust targets therefore, it is essential that accurate and timely data entry is performed.

The post holder will be required to offer very high customer service skills either face to face or on the telephone for both internal and external staff and patients. The post holder will be multi skilled and trained to ensure data quality will be the highest priority.

To be the first point of contact, answering and responding to internal and external telephone enquiries received in the department adhering to targets set by the department and the Trust. To cover reception when needed.

To appoint diagnostic outpatient appointments from GP and Consultant referrals for appropriate investigations in order of clinical need.

Ensure all clinics are utilised Trust wide, escalating capacity and demand issues on a daily basis using a range of information reports available. To provide updates regarding booking and wait times.

To undertake other clerical duties as required.

To work within the constraints of the DATA Protection Act and attend all mandatory training as required. To attend all in-house training courses as required, enabling the delivery of new service developments/changes.

To uphold the Trust values and 'we care' policy.
