The post holder will work as part of the Elective Access Team at the Churchill Hospital responsible for effectively managing the smooth operation of Outpatient & Waiting List services.

The post holder plays a pivotal role in supporting Multi disciplinary clinical teams to deliver a responsive service to patients who are referred to the Hospital for assessment, investigation, diagnosis and Treatment.

The main duties of the post is to deliver an effective and efficient administrative office function to support a front line clinical service that:
receives 600-700 new referrals per month

delivers daily outpatient clinics Inc. weekends

under takes 4 Operating lists per week

**The service requires an individual to join the team who is**:
patient focused, able to communicate with patients and manage information sensitively with attention to detail

organised, has effective time management skills and is able to prioritise workload

both able to work independently and as part of a large MDT team.

flexible in approach to work and able to cope effectively under pressure in a fast paced clinical service

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

The main responsibilities of the post is to provide a timely and responsive office function to

Process all new referrals to the service in a timely way to ensure all patients referred to the service are seen in clinic within 14 days of referral

Effectively manage the on going management of patients with in the service who require further appointments, investigations and or definitive surgical care

Work with other key stakeholders - internal and external to the Trust to ensure that the patients on a breast cancer pathway are treated within the national cancer targets.
