A number of exciting new roles have come up in the newly formed Synergy Programme, a cross-departmental group formed in response to Government Business Service’s request for individual departments to group together in ‘clusters’ to drive efficiencies, increase buying power for future Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) and Business Provider Service (BPS) services and improve the quality of shared service to our end users - our people.

The Synergy Programme is the largest of five departmental clusters, comprising the Department for Work and Pensions, Ministry of Justice, Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Home Office. The Department of Work and Pensions hosts the Synergy Programme. Your work will impact the procurement arrangements for the next 15 years, impacting over 50% of all Civil Servants - that’s 230,000 people across the four departments and arm’s length bodies.

Success of the Programme is crucial as Civil Servants rely on shared services to provide business critical tools in human resources, finance, payroll and procurement. It affects everything we do, from joining a department as a new starter, the way we claim for expenses, how we buy goods and services such as our laptops and canteen provisions, to the way we receive our pensions when we retire.

**Hybrid working**

These roles may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need, but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

These roles can only be worked from the UK.

**Job description**:
The post offers an exciting development opportunity for an SEO, to utilise their extensive HR experience and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, to work in a fast-paced environment covering both Change and HR functional disciplines. Drawing upon your knowledge and experience, you will have a key role in supporting the HR Design & Implementation Lead to deliver HR process convergence and the design, testing and deployment of the Synergy new ERP system and BPS.

The role will require flexibility to pick up a variety of work and the ability to switch focus at pace is also key to being successful in this role. This role aligns strongly with the Civil Service HR (CSHR) and Data Management Career Framework. Key tasks include:

- Support the delivery of the programme plan and development of process optimisation as well as realisation of transformation opportunities.
- Support the Team produce / contribute to programme’s HR Common Operating Model deliverables, including the detailed design underpinned by Process Modelling.
- Work as part of a ‘product centric’ multi-disciplinary team to design and successfully implement the programme deliverable. This will include working alongside multiple Synergy technical teams, delivery teams, user and business change teams and strategic partners.
- Being an advocate of the ‘Adopt not Adapt’ concept of Cloud adoption, challenging established ways of working to realise the transformation aspirations of the programme and move to ERP Software as a Service for HR processes.
- Collate and document information, data, insight and evidence provided by departments and other stakeholders; use intelligent analysis to help inform design decisions on complex issues

Build and maintain strong effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to confidently challenge, influence and negotiate positive outcomes and solutions.
