We are recruiting for a HR and Training Officer to join our team at our office in Denby Dale.

At Community Places you will be a valued member of our established, friendly, and professional Management and Administrative team who support our residential care homes.

You will support a wide range of activities for both HR and training, liaising with the HR department, training, managers, and colleagues to support with a variety of tasks on a day-to-day basis.

Your role will include but not limited to:

- Develop an overarching training plan with the management team which supports company policy and delivery of company strategic plans including workforce plan, governance strategy, infection prevention and control strategy
- Design and develop training and development programs based on both the company’s and the individuals needs
- Produce good quality training materials for in-house courses which are evidence based and support company policy
- Monitor and review the impact of training through feedback, questionnaires, and discussions with managers
- Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met
- Liaising with external training providers
- To monitor and record training documentation for all employees via management of the relevant training matrices and update training files to ensure audit ready status
- Ensure accurate recording of training registers, certificates, and results of any tests/authorizations.
- Act as a first point of contact for training queries.
- Process approved requests for training and ensure all necessary administration is in place.
- Arrange mandatory training for staff
- Manage changes to the training arrangements, ensuring both course providers and trainees are updated of any changes
- Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
- Evaluate all training and development programs annually to ensure they meet best practice, current guidelines, and legislation
- Provide monthly training reports, which include a training needs analysis
- Ensure IPC training needs are met to facilitate compliance with the IPC strategy and policies; working closely with the IPC team to provide this
- Maintain excellent working relationships and work effectively with other team members to facilitate cohesion across the senior corporate team
- Understanding of Safeguarding, reporting any concerns where relevant
- Liaising with HR with regard to any updates needed
- Carrying out administrative process for new hires in a timely manner and in line with the company policy. This will include preparation of induction packs, contracts of employment, obtaining references and any other compliance required for our services
- Maintain appropriate and compliant filing and tracking systems for all HR documentation on our HR system and files.
- Maintaining and updating databases to ensure records are accurate.

Your key attributes:

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to act with total discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Recent experience in a similar role would be advantageous
- An enhanced DBS will be required (Paid for)

This is a part time role offered at 30 hours per week. We are open to a flexible working pattern and are happy to discuss this.

As well as a salary of £23,000 to pro rata, £18,400 for 30 hours, we offeraccess to a free Employee Assist Programme providing care and compassionate support to our staff, including a Wellbeing App, counselling service and much more, the opportunity for further training to enhance skills and knowledge, additional annual leave hours after completing 2 years’ service, enrolment on to our pension scheme and free onsite parking.
