**ABOUT THE ROLE**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop evidence-based guidance for a Learning Design approach across ELT, drawing both on academic research in language learning/teaching and on customer research and learner data collected within OUP ELT
- Complete the development, launch, use and ongoing review of the curriculum frameworks
- Develop content for Thought Leadership communications - e.g. for Position Papers, presentations and podcasts to promote pedagogical support for teachers
- Build a network of contacts between Oxford ELT and researchers - from active consultants, to looser relationships with academics and researchers interested in pedagogy research - to ensure our work is informed by up-to-date and validated research
- Provide pedagogy expertise and consultancy for publishing and other developmental projects, where required, working with editorial, UX, technology or marketing colleagues
- Communicate and educate internally on the benefits of LD approach and curriculum frameworks
- Keep up-to-date with latest developments in Learning Design and Pedagogy relating to ELT and communicate to others within the division and wider OUP.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

**ABOUT YOU**

These attributes are essential:

- A solid understanding of how current pedagogical principles in ELT can be applied in Learning Design (both print and digital)
- Understanding of the needs of language teachers and learners around the world
- Good communication skills - including giving presentations and written communications.
- Able to carry out deep critical analyses of problems and solutions relating to learning design and pedagogy
- Able to gain support for change with teams that are not reporting to you

Experience in any of these areas will give you a strong advantage:

- Experience of language teaching or teacher training
- Knowledge of issues relating to ELT learning materials
- Experience with digital learning content and online learning environments
- Experience with learning analytics and AI tools for supporting learning
