Communications Officer - Band 5**:We are searching for two experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious CEE Officers to join our incredibly busy Communications, Engagement and Experience Team at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust SPH and the North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance.
To be part of our team, you’ll need bags of energy, lots of talent and the right level of experience. You’ll need to be self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment, where no two days are the same.
These positions will play a vital role within the team, helping to provide a high quality, professional and responsive communications and engagement function and to manage the reputation of the Trust and the Alliance.
Even though both of these roles will cover the whole remit of communications and engagement; one will have more of an external community support, access and engagement focus whilst the other an internal employee support, access and engagement focus.

**MAIN DUTIES
They will promote the Trust’s and Alliance presence, good reputation and standing and ensure that all of our communications reflect the strategic direction and are consistent with our brands.

- Executive, Non-Executive and senior management teams
- Local NHS and social care partners
- Regional and national NHS England teams
- Other external stakeholders - patient representatives, borough councils, local media, charities and campaigning organisations.

- Support the team with writing, producing and distributing newsletters, quarterly magazine and media stories.
- Support the Communication, Engagement and Experience Managers with internal communications campaigns.
- Help to organise and facilitate the running of events.
- Act as the first point of contact for the public, media and incoming enquiries coordinate / escalate responses as required.
- Field and record media enquiries escalating to relevant communications and engagement colleagues for action.
- Help to identify and gather information for positive media stories and monitor news websites to assess the relevance and impact of national news stories.
- Help facilitate requests for filming from colleagues; accompany film crews on site.
- Support the implementation of all communication strategies by developing and managing records, databases and photo libraries.
- Work with the Graphic Designer to produce ad-hoc leaflets, posters and other promotional literature.
- Work with the Membership Manager to ensure Governors and the members are kept updated on latest developments.
- Help manage the core internal and external Communication, Engagement and Experience channels to encourage engagement and respond to feedback across these platforms.
- Coordinate, research and contribute to our daily staff e-bulletins, which includes important staff updates, general good news staff stories, as well as regular features. Help colleagues to draft notices for the bulletins.
- Support the development of the Intranet and websites. Provide support to colleagues with relevant web content.
- Help coordinate small scale filming projects, using camera equipment and editing suite.
- Support the team to deliver communication and engagement plans for key projects, events and activities.
- Support the Communication, Engagement and Experience Manager in providing robust administrative support for the team when required.
- Support the Communications, Engagement and Experience Manager with engaging local services and partners to ensure local awareness and explore partnership opportunities and co-production activities.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of services and using formal and informal feedback/insight to constructively shape and develop services.
- Update databases with all contacts including required follow up contact and strategic developments required.
- Attend all relevant team meetings, providing communications and engagements update and contributing to quarterly reports as directed.
- Support all co-production activities with local residents and stakeholders to support ongoing development.
- Deputise for the Communications, Engagement and Experience Manager as required.
- Help to train and develop other, more junior members of the team.
