Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Welfare and Rescue Officer to join our team. As an Animal Welfare and Rescue Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of animals in our care. You will be responsible for responding to animal welfare concerns, conducting investigations, and providing education to the community.
**Duties**:
- Respond to reports of animal cruelty, neglect, or abuse
- Conduct thorough investigations to gather evidence and document findings
- Provide emergency medical care and transport for injured or sick animals
- Coordinate with local authorities and agencies to enforce animal welfare laws
- Educate the community on responsible pet ownership, animal welfare issues, and the importance of spaying/neutering
- Assist with rescuing and rehabilitating animals from hazardous or dangerous situations
- Maintain accurate records of all cases, including documentation of evidence and witness statements
- Collaborate with local shelters and rescue organizations to find suitable homes for rescued animals
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in animal welfare, rescue, or related field is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and welfare standards
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and engage diverse audiences
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
**Salary**: £18,297.10-£29,316.34 per year
