**Job Title**: Project Officer. Ulverston Town Council.

**Role**:
To find funding and manage projects that are to be delivered by the town council wholly or in partnership with other agencies and to contribute to the administration of the services that the Town Council manage.

**Standard Hours**: 20 hours per week.

**Accountable to**: The Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.

**Responsibilities to include**:
**1.** The main responsibility will be to develop and deliver projects identified by Ulverston Town Council. These projects currently include the development and delivery of youth projects in Ulverston working with partners and organising the annual Eco Fair and Carols at the Coro event. The post will also include administrative tasks to support the town clerk including managing the town councils programme of grants together with updating the councils social media and website.

**2**. Supporting the town clerk in delivery of tasks which may include but not exclusively be:

- Attending some evening meetings with the town clerk
- Communications: Helping the Town Council to improve its information and communications, contributing to social media and website update and keeping the council noticeboards up to date.
- Assist in answering phones and dealing with the public
- Deputising occasionally for the town clerk at meetings and taking minutes as required.

**3. Training**:
The post-holder will train for the ILCA qualification (Introduction to Local Government Administration.

**4. Working Arrangements**:
The Assistant Town Clerk will work 20 hours per week, on a flexible working pattern to be organised in consultation with the Town Clerk which ensures that the office is always staffed.

**5. Office**:
The postholder will be based at the town council office in County Square, Ulverston and will be provided with a laptop computer which will have the software to enable occasional home working, if agreed by the town clerk. The postholder will also have use of the works mobile phone.

**6. Travel**:
The postholder will be expected to provide their own transport. Travel expenses within the parish boundary are not payable, but agreed travel to meeting or for training outside the boundary are payable at the agreed NALC scale.

**7.** **Application details**:

**Salary**: £25,878.00 per year
