Job description

Memory Lane is a small charity which provides joint social activities for people with dementia and the person who cares for them. Established in 2015, it covers Eastbourne and surrounding areas. There are currently groups for singing, bowling, craft, cinema and games, with additional occasional outings, parties and social events.

The Charity Trustees are seeking to recruit a new co-ordinator to organise events, recruit and support both members and volunteers and to promote the Charity, including fund-raising.

The job is home-based with attendance required at activities in Eastbourne. Hours are flexible and benefits negotiable.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

- able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers and the role of MLE in providing a positive impact
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills (within MLE, networking)
- Planning and organisational skills; working collaboratively with the Trustees but able to show iniative
- IT skills/understanding (Microsoft Office as a minimum)
- Ability to be flexible and self-motivated
- Non-judgemental attitude
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (to be able to move equipment for activities)
