An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our Inflammatory Bowel Disease team as our team coordinator. Joining the existing team of medical staff, five specialist nurses, and IBD MDT Co
- ordinator. We require someone with excellent administration & communication skills as well as previous experience working within a healthcare setting; You will use those skills to coordinate the biologics service, liaising with home care companies and clinical areas to support the specialist nurses in delivering a safe biologics service.
In addition you will coordinate the IBD Flare line on a daily basis, taking calls and liaising with the nursing staff, GP's and patients.
You will become part of a dynamic, interventional team which supports patients with IBD. The service is a busy proactive service which operates outpatient clinics, a advice line and a large biologic service.
Working with other administrator colleagues, you will provide a service to support the team monday to friday.

To liaise with patients, relatives and carers and advise/direct them as required by the IBD team

To prepare and co-ordinate the bi weekly Virtual Biologics clinic, printing prescriptions book appointments for blood monitoring clinic and outpatient clinics.

Answering the patient flare line and Liaising with the specialist nurses

Record clinic attendance outcomes from the IBD helpline and outpatient clinic

Responsible for co-ordination and typing of correspondence for medico-legal issues.
To file and retrieve patient records as required.

To communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers to maximise delivery of care.
To communicate effectively with team members, and disseminate information as required in order to provide seamless care.
To demonstrate ability to deal with barriers to effective communication, using alternative methods when dealing with e.g. age related illnesses, deaf and hard of hearing individuals and non-English speakers.

Ensure Trust guidelines, policies and procedures regarding confidentiality, disclosure of information and Data Protection are observed at all times.
To respond to internal and external telephone enquiries in a timely and helpful manner.

Analytical and Judgmental Skills
To be conversant with all the functions on the Patient Administration System (PAS), Healthviews, Choose and Book and other relevant departmental electronic systems, in relation to the receiving of patients and updating demographic details and booking of appointments.
To carry out analysis of audit information and present the data in an appropriate format under the direction of Managers and Team Leads.
To collate other information as required, and present to Managers and Team Leads.
To contribute to data management as required including data entry, data manipulation and general data and word processing.
To ensure that all information relating to patients and staff is accurately documented,

To coordinate and support the Consultant Nurse in the day to day running of the biologics service.
