We are looking for a highly collaborative and experienced Head of Media Relations to lead a dynamic team of media relations managers.

This role will report directly to the Head of Communications for the Commercial Bank, and work closely with the relevant business stakeholders to design and deliver the media strategy for the business.

In this role you will:

- Be responsible for the leadership and continuous development of CMB’s Media Relations team.
- Design and deliver a comprehensive media strategy that supports the priorities of HSBC’s CMB business and protects and enhances reputation with the media.
- Collaborate with Group and business-line Media teams to ensure a shared approach to building and improving key media relationships globally, as well as seamlessly integrated activities across a range of channels
- Take personal ownership of some key media relationships, as well as providing strategic advice to support senior executives to build their own networks with key media.
- Constantly evaluate media, social media and insight data to evolve CMB’s media strategies and maximise impact
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Comprehensive external communications, campaigning and proactive news generation skills.
- External operating environment knowledge and understanding including through lenses of clients and reputational risk.
- Experienced people leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong commercial acumen
- Strong team player and network builder across a complex organisation and different geographies
- Proven ability to build very good relationships with senior stakeholders, manage their expectations and deliver successfully

This role is based in London on a hybrid basis.
