We are looking for a highly collaborative and experienced Head of Media Relations to lead a dynamic team of media relations managers for the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) business.

This role will report directly to the Head of Communications for GBM and work closely with a range of business stakeholders to deliver a media strategy that supports the business priorities.

In this role you will:

- Lead the development and delivery of a clear and impactful media strategy that is aligned to both GBM’s and Group’s strategic priorities.
- Devise media plans that support this media strategy, utilising both social and traditional media.
- Role model collaborative leadership across the media teams, as well as relevant functions across HSBC, to align messaging and maximise impact.
- Actively work to maintain and grow media relationships across trade publications and Tier 1 titles.
- Advise senior leaders and, where required, C-suite executives on media and reputational opportunities, with the goal of increasing media engagement across key HSBC executives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- External communication, campaigning and senior business partnering competencies.
- Experienced people leader with external operating environment knowledge and understanding including through lenses of clients and reputational risk.
- Commercial acumen within the relevant product areas is highly desirable
- Strong collaboration and team-work.
- Ability to pro-actively engage and operate with leadership and colleagues across multiple geographies, cultures and time-zones

This role is based in London on a hybrid basis.
