Care Assistant for a Young Girl P/t @ £10.82/hr in

**We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Care Worker to provide 1:1 close supervision for an 8 year old girl with a diagnosis of Autism and a Learning Disability.**
**Main Duties**:
There is no medication administration required for this role. The support will be delivered both at home and in the community accessing age appropriate 1:1 activities including going to the beach, where she loves to build sandcastles and also visiting the woods.
- The child has no danger awareness so very close supervision and support will be required to ensure her safety, especially when near water. We are looking for somebody who enjoys being outdoors but also happy to engage with baking and art activities on poorer weather days.
- The child presents with some challenging behaviour and is seeking an enabler who can support her in managing this whilst continuing to access appropriate activities. She is non verbal and has limited communication, so experience in working with children presenting with similar behaviours will be advantageous.
**Hours**:
- 5 hours per week during school holidays and some hours during term time weeks available, flexibility on days/times required to meet needs of the family. Also, to provide cover for holidays and any absence of the existing support worker.
**Person Specification**:
The successful applicant must:
- have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities
- have experience of communicating with children who are unable to fully communicate verbally
- have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs.
- have a high degree of initiative
- be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised.
- be flexible
- have a happy, positive and caring nature
- respect confidentiality
**Rates of pay**:
**£10.82 per hour.**
**5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)**
**Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer.**
**Car driver is essential and must have Business Insurance.**
