As a Parent Champion Volunteer you will be providing information and support to parents/carers of vulnerable adolescents, who may also need support navigating the education, criminal justice or social system(s)

Working within family homes and at various community venues, on the the phone and via teams London Borough of Lewisham.

Parent Champion volunteer will be fully supported to: engage with parents of adolescents and build good knowledge of own local community.

Offer practical and emotional support to families with adolescent children in Lewisham.

Provide information about, and signpost parents to resources or support services that may help them with some of the practical, emotional and parenting issues they are experiencing

Develop a knowledge of how to navigate the criminal justice and social care systems as a parent to assist with support to parents.

Help family lives raise awareness of the Parent Champion service by running stands and drop-ins at local community venues and distributing promotional materials.

Talk with parents in groups about how to access information as well as about safeguarding topics such as CSE.

Volunteer training and awareness on stop and search, Non violent risk, Youth Offending Service, Safeguarding

Record accurate information manually

This is an UNPAID ROLE, out of pockets expenses will be paid.

4 core volunteer training sessions will take place from Tuesday 24th January 2023

Please note DBS and referencing is essential for this role

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 2-3 per week

**Salary**: From £5.00 per hour
