Part time (27 - 33 hour) Shared Lives Officer required to work in Dorchester, Dorset (hybrid working)

Dorset is a wonderful place to live and work - highlights include the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, expansive designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, bustling market towns, some highly rated schools, and a university in Bournemouth. Whilst the post-holder may work on a 'patch' basis in a specified area of Dorset, the post is based in Dorchester, the County Town.

The Dorset Shared Lives Scheme is a growing service which provides high quality family-based accommodation, care and support services to people aged 16 years and over with care and support needs, many of whom have a learning disability. The scheme is registered with the Care Quality Commission and all staff and Shared Lives Carers work within the CQC standards for the service.

**What you will be doing**

Shared Lives Officers are responsible for maintaining a caseload of Shared Lives Carers. The role includes recruitment and monitoring of Shared Lives Carers, matching service users and carers for both long term placements, respite and day support opportunities; and promoting the service. In doing so the post-holder, working with the scheme Manager, will ensure that the service that users of the scheme receive is consistent with the standards set by the scheme, underpinned by legislation and regulation. Full induction training and ongoing support will be given.
