As part of our transformation of community mental health services, we are opening up a new Sexual abuse and Assault Pathway and we are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Psychologist to join our team. This role is to work exclusively in the Sexual Assault Services Pathway provided by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, North Staffordshire combined NHS Trust, VCSE (Survive and Woman's aid) and Staffordshire police crime commissioner. This post would be based across several bases across the Staffordshire area.

- To undertake protocol based psychological assessments with service users, family members and others involved in the service user’s care.
- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user’s problems, including simple procedures and techniques related to psychological therapies.
- To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups including receiving and managing referrals under guidance, facilitating service user attendance, co-delivering the workshop material and recording outcomes.
- To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service.
- To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary pathway meetings.
- To review case files, depositions etc. where appropriate, analysing that information, providing summaries and reports under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
- To prepare reports on clinical interventions with individuals and groups, the results of psychometric assessments, case note reviews and research/audit projects. Such reports may be written for, or read by, the service user, psychologists, members of the multi-disciplinary team, or staff from external agencies.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to service users to enhance awareness of their psychological needs
- To work alongside VCSE specialist service providers.

Development and Progression Within Mental Health Services at MPFT - YouTube

The role is varied and provides opportunity to build upon clinical skills, develop and implement group interventions, utilise service evaluation and research skills and develop multidisciplinary team working skills; therefore good time keeping skills and being able to manage multiple, competing demands are essential to the role. This post would provide an ideal basis for individuals wishing to pursue Doctoral training in Clinical Psychology. Further training and CPD opportunities are accessible within this role.

You will join a diverse and supportive group of psychological practitioners, within a service committed to ongoing professional development for staff. Due to the COVID-19, it is likely that there will be a mixture of some remote/online working.

**What you will get**:

- An annual salary of up to £26,282 (37.5 hours per week) depending on experience
