**About us**
The Vale of Glamorgan Council Housing Business Support Team is located within Housing and Building Services, under the Environment and Housing Directorate.
The team, supports the Development and Investment Team, manages and delivers the council housing adaptations service, along with maintaining the asset management system which is used invest in our council housing assets, to ensure our residents, contractors, employees or visitors are living and working in safe homes, communal spaces and environments.
The team is tasked with ensuring that all housing asset component documentation is compliant and held on record demonstrating the council’s compliance with the latest legislative requirements, and ensure they are serviced and inspected, maintained and replaced as required to maintain our compliance with latest legislation and Welsh Government Welsh Housing Quality Standards.

**About the role** Pay Details**:
Grade 5 - Spinal point 8 to 12, starting at £24,702(£12.80 per hr) up to £26, 421 (£13.69 per hr)
**Hours of Work / Working Pattern**:
Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week.
**Main Place of Work**:
The role involves hybrid working being based at The Alps Depot, Wenvoe, working from home and any other location around the Vale as necessary.
**Description**:
To provide a quality, efficient and effective disabled adaptation administration and general admin support for the Development and Investment Team. The role is responsible for the administration support and use of the Housing Asset Management Database (Keystone) to deliver performance, integrity and security of the system, and to analyse data as may be required in the development of investment plans and option appraisals in relation to the Council’s housing stock.
**About you**
You will need:
- Experience in working and dealing with and supporting clients (within social housing) taking a proactive role in dealing with issues as they arise (to conclusion).
- Ability to establish and maintain administrative monitoring systems.
- An understanding of how buildings are constructed and a basic level of fault identification.
- An understanding of the requirements of residents with medical needs and the medical aids and adaptations available to them.
- Awareness of current housing policy and the ability to explain clearly to incoming tenants about their responsibilities in keeping to their Tenancy Agreement.
- Effective communicator with good verbal and written skills who can relate and engage with people at all levels.
- Imaginative and innovative and able to find flexible solutions to problems.
- Ability to prioritise case works and to manage within budget constraints.
- Good written skills with ability to write and complete concise reports/forms.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
- Good standard of education preferably to NVQ 3/ “A” level standard.
- Ability to drive / travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
- Ability to undertake Hybrid working balancing being in the office and working from home.
- A team player who is able to prioritise workload according to the demands of the service.
- Calm and resourceful in difficult situations.
