This is a developmental training position, the apprenticeship levy pays for the degree programme. You will receive a salary of Band 5 annex 21 as you learn and a conditional offer of a permanent band 5 position dependent on the successful completion of the degree programme.

**Main duties of the job**:
As an apprentice Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) you will work under the direction of an HCPC registered SLT to provide assessment, advice, therapeutic intervention and management for clients/patients and their carers as part of a multi-disciplinary team in health and community settings. Also enable others to promote communication and language at a population health level.

Under appropriate supervision, you will participate in a range of duties to develop the required skills and ability to meet the requirements to become a Speech and Language Therapist. It is expected that the level of responsibility and competency of each of your duties will evolve and grow throughout your time on the degree programme.

You will carry out duties which support the delivery of therapeutic patient care and in line with health, education and social care priorities, communicating effectively across all interventions, respecting confidentiality of information relating to patients, relatives, staff and the organisation.

You will maintain clear, accurate and full patient records including electronic patient records, undertaking other duties as directed by the service lead including carrying out any appropriate administrative tasks.
