Working as part of an integrated team, you will lead on planned therapy programmes and interventions across mainstream schools and preschool complex teams.

**Main duties of the job**:

- To provide a high level of clinical expertise in managing a caseload of preschool and school aged children and young people with complex speech, language and communication difficulties.
- To develop and implement individualised care plans, based on best practice, which reflect the specialist nature of the intervention required to meet the needs of cases.
- To develop and communicate appropriate strategies to facilitate the child’s communicative effectiveness, including work in multidisciplinary teams and joint working with trained interpreters and bilingual assistants in languages other than English, overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers to communication and acceptance.
- This will also involve a highly specialist clinical advisory role to specialist and non-specialist therapists, providing second opinions, shadowing, mentoring and clinical supervision as well as contributing to clinical support interest groups and peer audit.
- To provide leadership and support to junior members of the team including one to one supervision, IPDR, clinical supervision and first line management response where required. To be responsible for and continuing own and other’s professional development and learning, accessing supervision and being aware of learning needs and service needs.

**Essential criteria**:

- Relevant specialist experience of complex clinical caseload management
- Relevant experience of working collaboratively with families and other services
- Evidence of Implementation of evidence-based and child centred interventions relevant to clinical caseload
- Experience of assessment for a wide range of children's speech, language and communication needs
- Experience of involvement in managing/leading projects and delegating tasks/ allocate work to othersmembers of staff and students
