An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Support Officer to join a newly established social care prevention of admission service within South and West Hertfordshire for all aged adults. We are looking for a hard-working, organised and personable individual to join the team and support us as our service requirements continue to develop and increase.

The Prevention of Admission Team will support people to remain independent, healthy, and safe in their usual place of residence by providing a rapid assessment, support, and care planning to maintain citizens and their carers wellbeing outside of residential care and hospital settings whilst driving forward the integration of social care with health. This post will provide business and administrative support to the individuals and team members within the social care prevention of admission service within South and West Hertfordshire.

We are looking for a confident individual, capable of using their own initiative and completing tasks within deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have some awareness or willingness to learn about the different types of persons who will use the service

As a Support Officer, you will be providing business and administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team of social workers, community care officers and the managers.

Your role will be to provide professional support, dealing with confidential and sensitive matters, answering telephone calls, and providing information as a first point of contact. You will undertake a range of duties such as note and minute taking, filing, scanning, photocopying, and dealing with general correspondence. You will have a key role in managing team commitments and arranging meetings.

You will be expected to have good communication skills, both verbal and written, a high level of computer literacy, including confidence in using Excel, excellent interpersonal skills and confident in dealing with enquiries from the public and other professionals, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. You will need to have a flexible approach to responding to the needs of the team and service.

You will be:

- Self-motivated, professional, and approachable providing excellent team support and best practice at all times.
- Willing to undertake a variety of administrative tasks, operating within departmental policies and procedures.

A competent administrator with experience of using Microsoft Office who is confident to be the first point of contact for Managers and possess excellent customer care skills.
