**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Primary medical qualification (eg. MBChB, MBBS, European Economic Area (EEA) Country Medical qualification.
- Demonstration of acquisition of the level of knowledge and skills necessary for the completion of F2 or evidence of equivalent training and experience

Desirable criteria
- Completion of post graduate qualification e.g. MRCS Part 1

Communication

Essential criteria
- Applicant have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013)
- Applicant is empathetic and sensitive to patients needs
- Applicant is able to explain things clearly - particularly complex or sensitive information Is able to influence and persuade effectively
- Is able to influence and persuade effectively

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
- Proven ability to take clinical history & undertake examination
- Knowledge of the workings of the NHS
- Good organisational skills and time management
- Use of evidence based practice
- Participation in audit and understanding of clinical governance
- Information technology skills

Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within the NHS in a variety of posts
- Research Experience
