An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop your skills in managing the deployment of medical staffing to support the General and Colorectal Surgery Department based at a leading hospital.

You will provide crucial support to the Directorate Management Team to ensure an effective service is provided to the clinical teams. This role can be demanding and requires attention to detail, as well as the ability to communicate with internal/external bodies at all levels.

Main Responsibilities

">

Key duties include ensuring all medical rotas are coordinated effectively for the designated specialty, deploying junior medical staff as required to maintain service cover. Specifically:

  • ">
  • Supporting medical job planning, rota design, and workforce planning.">
  • Supporting improved productivity for the directorate.">
  • Responsible for the administrative induction of new and temporary clinical staff.">
  • Responsible for compiling and maintaining an up-to-date speciality induction pack.">
  • Coordinating the attendance of junior medical staff (recording of absence and documentation of return-to-work interviews)">
  • Maintaining compliant and efficient medical rotas for all levels of medical staff in the designated specialty.">
  • Facilitation of rota monitoring.">
  • Responsible for the coordination of leave for all medical staff in the designated specialty.">
  • Coordinating and administering junior doctor induction days.">
  • Coordinate and assist in the recruitment of junior medical staff.">

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • Educated to A level or relevant experience.">
  • ECDL or equivalent qualification or experience of computer applications, particularly management of spreadsheets in Excel.">
  • Experience of dealing with Medical Staff at all levels.">
  • Experience of working in a pressured and unpredictable environment.">
  • Previous experience within a rota coordinator post in the NHS or similar.">

Salary: Approximately £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
