**What you’ll be doing**

Volunteers are at the heart of the IET. Thousands of dedicated members generously give their time to support our mission of engineering a better world. Now, we're seeking a talented individual to join our Volunteering Excellence (VX) team.

As a key member of the VX team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that the IET leads the way in volunteering experience and excellence. You'll provide invaluable insight to our strategic development, ensuring that best practices are consistently applied across the organisation. Your efforts will directly impact the positive experience our volunteers receive at every stage of their journey with us.

We're seeking a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, able to adapt processes and engage with volunteers professionally and amiably. Previous experience in volunteer or customer service roles is highly valued for insights. Strong writing capabilities are essential for clear communication with volunteers and stakeholders, while experience in online platform management is crucial for effective digital engagement. Exceptional stakeholder management skills and strong organisational abilities are key for collaborative success in driving our volunteer engagement initiatives forward.

**A little more about the role**
- Developing content and communication plans to deliver the volunteer induction programme, including but not limited to:

- o Volunteer onboarding - Working collaboratively with the operational team to ensure smooth on-boarding from a communication point of view. _
- o Induction sessions - Creative development and organisation of induction sessions for new IET volunteers. _
- o Check in’s - Ensuring a steady flow of communications with new volunteers to ensure their volunteer journey is off to a strong start._
- Managing key communications and creating written content for and about the volunteering community:

- Member News
- Volunteer Updates
- Social media campaigns (eg: Volunteers’ Week, International Volunteer Day)
- Case studies
- FAQ’s
- _Driving engagement with the online _volunteer community, EngX - content creation, commissioning, and encouraging volunteer participation. _
- Rewards and Recognition - development and delivery of a holistic recognition programme for all volunteers. _
- Monitoring and seeking to improve volunteer satisfaction through all touchpoints with the IET. This will include creation and coordination of pulse surveys throughout a volunteer's journey to gather, analyse and act on feedback. _
- Inbox Management - timely responses to relevant correspondences.

- Confidence in using technology and innovative techniques to develop ideas and processes
- Proven organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Customer service experience, and ideally experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of stakeholder management and communicating at different levels
- Strong communication skills - specifically experience of generating written content for different channels and formats
- Confidence in delivering presentations to internal and external audiences
- Confidence in using and understanding social media platforms
- Confidence in analysing data and consolidating reports
- Ability to work independently
- Flexible and adaptable as traveling or attending meetings out of office hours may a requirement of the role
