**Transport Coordinator - Gibbs & Dandy - Stevenage**

This is a fantastic opportunity to join as a **Transport Coordinator** with**Gibbs & Dandy - Stevenage**where the focus will be to manage the distribution of customer orders and deliveries across a designated area through leading a professional, stock, yard and delivery operation at all times, whilst building andmaintaining successful working relationships with customers and colleagues to achieve maximum sales, margin and customer service.

As a **Transport Coordinator**with**Gibbs & Dandy** the main responsibilities are:

- Work with the Branch Director or Assistant Manager, Operational and Sales colleagues to deliver an excellent order and delivery service for customers.
- Manage the transport/sales order process through ensuring all order tickets are transferred from the allocation board to the whiteboard, ensuring orders are printed, picked, loaded and delegated to the relevant driver terminals, whilst ensuring transportplanning and compliance is fulfilled at all times.
- Ensure that maximum potential transport efficiencies and vehicle capacity is achieve for the Branch by ensuring that capacity is continually reviewed and created.
- Devise and monitor routing, timing and allotment of runs to maximise efficiency and meet delivery deadlines, whilst maintain fuel efficiency.
- Ensure all commercial vehicle maintenance is managed, including MHE and Lorries, and daily defect reporting is actioned.
- Ensure lorries are unloaded and loaded in a safe and secure manner, and maximum weights are not exceeded.
- Ensure all vehicles are dispatched at their agreed times of departure and a quick turnaround to limit downtime in the yard.
- Liaise with the local branch network and customers to resolve any issues/complaints relating to delivery service and timings etc.

To be suitable for the **Transport Coordinator**with**Gibbs & Dandy**you need to have:

- Proven experience in Transport Management or Transport Route Planning.
- Proven experience of managing and leading a team to successfully deliver results.
- Experience in Vehicle Compliance is a must.
- Relevant product knowledge preferred, ideally gained within a similar industry.
- Good relationship building skills and ability to work well with other team members.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Able to provide feedback on process improvement.
- Understanding of EHS standards
- A team player, able to work well with colleagues to achieve results.
- Strong planning skills and ability to solve problems and make effective decisions quickly.
- Strong IT/analytical skills, particularly Excel & Word would be advantageous.
