Assisting and facilitating flow throughout the Emergency Department, liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to efficiently and safely ensure patients care needs are met and patients are moved to the appropriate clinical assessment or inpatient ward.

Ensure that EPR (Nervecentre) is updated with patient plans to ensure visibility throughout the Trust regarding next steps for the patient.

Ensure bed requests are made in a timely manner following the completion of speciality clerking and proactively contact wards to arrange patient transfer once an allocation is given.

Book patient transport following the decision for patient discharge, liaising with the nurses responsible for patient as well as the Social or Clinical Navigator teams. Liaise with the Discharge Lounge regarding capacity/transferring patient prior to transport arrival.

Have an awareness of diagnostic wait times and escalate to the Shop floor manager/Dr in charge if there are delays.

Escalating any concerns or queries to the relevant staff member, ensuring patient confidentiality and dignity is kept.
