Neighbourhood Housing Officer

Manchester City Council have two exciting opportunities for Neighbourhood Housing Officers (NHO) to work on a fixed-term basis at Northwards Housing Group.

Pay rate
**PAYE**: £13.51 - £15.17
**Umbrella**: £16.63 - £18.74
**Contract**:Temporary, initial 2 months with possible extension
**Location**:Manchester, M8
**Hours**:35 per week
This exciting role gives you the opportunity to really make an impact; tackling anti-social behaviour head on, supporting people to manage their tenancies and improving the look of our estates. You will achieve this by building solid relationships in thecommunity, working closely with our tenants and their families.
As a natural problem solver, you will be a main contact for Northwards’ customers, signposting and giving general advice. You will be a strong team player as well as confident and productive when working alone. You must have an enquiring mind and want tomake a difference.
Applicants will work closely with colleagues internally, such as the Community Safety Team, Design & Delivery Team, Caretaking Team and Resident Liaison Officers and externally with partners such as Greater Manchester Police, the City Council and varioussupport agencies. You will need to be an excellent communicator, approachable, friendly and when required, assertive and knowledgeable.
**You must have a full driving licence as access to a car is required on a daily basis.**
**Duties Include**:
- Take a proactive and leading role in case managing wide ranging tenancy management issues including (but not excluding): anti-social behaviour, property condition, garden enforcement, safeguarding, domestic abuse and tenancy fraud/misuse cases.
- Enforce the terms of the tenancy agreement; including providing tenants with accurate and appropriate advice about their rights and responsibilities in relation to their tenancy agreement and where necessary providing professional and good quality informationto the Community Safety Team to enable legal action to be taken
- Carry out regular estate inspections to identify environmental and other problems as well as taking relevant action as appropriate to improve the neighbourhood.
- Proactively safeguard adults by offering support to tenants in dealing with health and social issues, liaising with appropriate support services and engaging directly with tenants to enable them to successfully manage their tenancies.

- Experience in tenancy management, or dealing with tenancy management issues
- Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour is desirable but not essential
- Experience with environmental management is also desirable but not essential
